New updates to the TOEFL Test:
  • Fewer questions in each module, as well as a reduction in the time of each module.
  • "My Best Scores" calculation mechanism for candidates to demonstrate their best, valid for 2 years.
  • In the reading part, the number of questions has been lowered to ten, and the time limit has been cut to 54–72 minutes instead of 60–80 minutes.
  • The number of lectures in the listening segment has been reduced, and the duration will be 41–57 minutes rather than 60–90 minutes.
  • In the speaking portion, the number of activities has been reduced to four, and the time limit has been cut to 17 minutes.
  • Overall, the test has been cut by 30 minutes, reducing the overall time to around 3 hours.

What is the new scoring pattern?

The 'my best score' system, which went into effect on August 1, 2019, allows applicants to select their greatest scores from all of their previous tries. Some universities, on the other hand, may choose to disregard super scores. Each portion of the test is given equal weight and is scored out of 120 points.
